29 Weeks of Rest

Scott surprised me this week. He got off of work early, came home, and painted the nursery for us! He got it all done in one afternoon and the gray walls look so perfect. Thank you hubbs, you are amazing!!

Fatigue took over this week, like a train actually. I have been working overtime whenever I can grab it, let alone constantly working on a million little tasks at a time. I slept a lot and it feels as though baby girl is going through a growth spurt of sorts. I'm exhausted and I can actually say that I feel pregnant. Nights are becoming sleepless and painful at times, she likes to practice her ninja moves when I sleep. This baby has been so kind during the second trimester that I forgot that her little apartment was about to start getting cramped for space. I'm thankful though. Besides the ever-raging hormones and sleeplessness, God is great to grace us with this little future soccer player. He reminds me she's okay with every little jab, kick, and punch.

28 Weeks of Nesting

The third trimester is officially here, and things became very real this week. We looked at the calendar and realized that we only had a handful of weekends left that Scott didn't have to work before the baby comes. Panic mode official set it, and then we went to IKEA.

Scott not only took on the task of building the Ikea furniture, but re-purposing a dresser that we already had too! He sanded it down and painted it white to match the other furniture in the room. Scott did an amazing job, I'm so proud of him and all he has done!

After the baby's wardrobe was assembled, I was eager to hang little dresses and sleepers. Therefore, I did my first load of baby laundry this week; the clothing looked so small in the washer! It felt amazing to hang up Baby Girls clothes all ready her. I officially know what nesting feels like, and it feels amazing.

27 Weeks of Purging

This week was all about getting rid of all of the extra clutter or stashed away junk in our 2 bedroom house. I cannot believe how much we can manage to stash away at times, it is incredible. Thank God that we do not use our attic for storage or have a basement, because we would be in trouble. I am a big believer that for two adults, we shouldn't need to use our attic. Why? Because babies bring a lot of stuff. And as of right now, our guest room that is slowly turning into a nursery, has more of our items than of our baby girls.

When taking on this task, I underestimated how long it would take me to do this right. I mean let's be real, it's easier to make excuses to hold on to something than to get rid of it. So there went a lot of clothes, bags, college bins, and knick-knacks.

So here is the plan: we love our family and friends, so much, that you get to spend your lovely time in our beloved daughters room when you visit. Is that a sweet deal or what? And when we move, one day, we may have that third bedroom that functions as a guest room:)

Our house is going to soon be taken over by a baby, and she will be totally worth. So here is to purging junk and items that we all don't need, because her little outfits and toys will just be that much more precious.

Happy Birthday Mom!

We had the joy of celebrating Mom's birthday early with her before she returned back to Michigan. Can you believe she is going to double her grandchildren this upcoming year in April?! What a great gift Jenn and I gave her :) Jenn made Mom a wonderful and tasty cake and we had a fun sleep over at our house with all the family together.
Mom, we are blessed to have you in our life and wish you the most cherished birthday full of happiness!
Love, Scott and Sarah Ann

26 weeks of Nursery Planning

This week has been all about planning the nursery; the humble room our little one will sleep, cry, eat, rock, and listen to lullabies in. There is something about pink and gray that is just so feminine, yet sophisticated at the same time. When my Mom was down here over Christmas, I had no idea what I wanted to do in the nursery, until we saw a pink a gray set up while shopping. I was in love with the colors. I found the perfect gray glider, chevron sheets, yet there are a lot of pieces still missing. Have no fear, it will all come together in the end. The images on the blog are not of our actual nursery, but inspiration of the style we are looking for. I cannot wait to see our little girls room piece together while staying affordable with our choices.

This weeks craving: Salad, lots and lots of salad!

25 weeks in 2013!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

My parents flew out New Years Eve Morning. It was bittersweet to see them go and we can't wait to see them again so many times this upcoming year. There will be baby showers, baby arrivals, wedding celebrations of my BFF Court, and all in a matter of a few months. We are happy to say they made it home safely, to good 'ole chilly Michigan :)

We played NYE very chill this year; Pizza and Red Box Movies with the pups. Originally we planned to do it big and go out with a bang, but life happened over the last week and we were just grateful to be alone, holding each other close. My Grandma (My Mom's Mother) had a massive stroke the day after Christmas. After just spending a beautiful Christmas Eve with her and my parents being with her again on Christmas Day, we were all caught off guard by the news. She is recovering slowly; prayers of healing, comfort, and peace are greatly needed during this difficult time for her and the entire family.
