37 weeks of building memories

Our pregnancy is officially full-term! Baby girl can now safely come when she is ready to greet this world. This weekend, Scott assembled our little-ones crib and I am so thankful that he is handy. What a relief to feel that her room is finally fully assembled. We understand that she will not need her crib for awhile, but it is one less thing on our to-do list. The dogs watched very intently while Scott the builder was at work and I believe they are going to both be great big brothers. There are still some finishing touches for the room to add to the walls and bedding of course; we will post the final product soon. We have a few more boxes to open and assemble this weekend to free up the rest of our house, so here's to the final organizing push!

We also celebrated at my sister in-laws baby shower this weekend. Spending time with my bothers family was a lot of fun; my nephew has decided to name our baby snowflake (he name their baby kitchen). Five year-olds have the most amazing imagination! Their baby is due just about two weeks after us and it has been a true blessing to go through this pregnancy with her :) We are excited to meet Baby girls new cousin!

Contractions have been the highlight this week, now daily. In fact, Saturday they went on all afternoon. The good thing is that we got some practice in timing the contractions this weekend! Also, contractions show that she is getting me ready for the "real thing". While some of the contractions have been the infamous braxton hicks, others have been very, and I mean VERY, painful. The kind that make you stop walking and talking. Sunday night was the first night that I woke up every hour in pain, but thankfully I was able to go back to sleep between episodes.

At my last OB appointment, the doctor was happy to hear that I was having contractions and reminded me that my new swollen appendages are normal. She delicately said with a smile that this is the uncomfortable stage; sleep while you can. Work is becoming cumbersome. Besides the fact that a client asked me yesterday if I was ready to pop, my waddle is becoming more and more apparent to everyone. Our next OB appointment is this Thursday, so we will see if these contractions are doing their job in the effacement department. Have I mentioned yet how I can't wait for my maternity leave to start on the 5th of April?! Well, that is, unless our little one decides to make her debut before that ;)

Belly Laughs :D

36 weeks, it is getting real

On Friday we started our weekly OB appointments and I am officially dilated 1 cm. Now I have been told that I could stay at 1 cm for weeks with no change, so I am not too anxious yet. However, this did make things A LOT more real for Scott and I. Our hospital bags are packed, car seat installed, and the bassinet and diapers are ready to go :) Phew, I feel better. We have a lot more to do though; the crib arrived on Monday and Scott is going to assemble it this week. The house will never seem clean enough for me and there are lot more items to find storage for. This week I have had more energy than last; I am still tired though. Each night I have been waking up at 3 am for my nightly ritual to the potty and I have a feeling this will be a normal feeding time for baby girl when she is out of the womb. I wish I could stop working now and rest, but I only have a couple weeks to go. Praise the Lord!

My biggest complaint today is that I wish this little internal heater would turn down the temperature... How embarrassing to be constantly hot and needing a nice cool breeze.

The other milestone this week was my first noticeable swelling and the doctor was very pleased that it took so long (and so am I). Also, my coworkers have been commenting that I look as though "I have dropped" and I feel as though she is just pulling me down lately. So I am praying that these last few uncomfortable weeks will go by effortlessly. Here is to being full-term this Saturday!!!!!!!!!

The Big News: As of Friday's appointment I am 1 cm dilated and baby girl is approximately 18 inches and 6 lbs. EEEEEEEK!

This weeks craving: Girl Scout Cookies and Ice water...since I am always hot!

35 weeks and a full wardrobe

So much to do and so little time. This must be the true feeling of nesting: I feel like there is so much to clean! This week we hit a big milestone: we purchased our crib!!!!!! This is exciting since it has been sold out continuously for months and we finally we able to order it and get it on sale with free shipping :D This made my week!
The nursery is just about finished, and all the clothes are washed and organized. Did I forget to mention that we went to garage sales this Saturday and we got a lot of items for 25 cents a piece?! It was great  because we were short on sleepers and pants so it worked out perfectly. This little girl has so many cute outfits already and I feel as though I am looking at my doll's clothing when I open her wardrobe. Here's a sneak peak:

Thank you to the Hubbs for not only remembering today, but making it special! XOXO

34 weeks and Hiccups

This week started the infamous weekly doctors visits. While listening to baby girls heartbeat with the doctor, we could hear that she had the hiccups! I felt them once before 2 weeks ago, but to hear her hiccuping was incredible. At the last appointment two weeks ago, she kept moving away from the Doppler with the doctor and was playing catch-me-if-you-can :). It was actually very humorous. We also watched her follow a light around my tummy this week, how cool is that?
I'm starting to feel more and more exhausted lately, but God is giving me the strength to keep up with my job, at least for now. I'm not looking forward to springing forward with the time change this weekend, but the perk is that spring will be here soon! So here's to spring and racking up extra sleep every chance I get!

This weeks goal: Packing the hospital bag
