Weekend Update
Weekend update:
Friday night was another sleepless night. We tried to decrease Abby's oxygen again without success. She did enjoy having a sponge bath though:)
Saturday Abby was challenged three different times to discontinue oxygen. Each time she went a little longer before having to go back on it. She was excited to eat green beans for dinner, praise God her appetite is returning! The apnea monitor was taken off last night so we are thankful for 3 less wires to work around. Abby made friends with the respiratory therapist yesterday and she actually let her hold her. Those two look forward to their play date together every three hours. She is also working today so Abby is very pleased. She was the first staff member that she has warmed up too. In the evening, Abby was so energetic and wouldn't go to sleep until almost midnight. She was a party animal and the night shift nurses had a lot or fun with all off her talking and giggles. Saturday night was semi-successful. She still needed oxygen, but the frequency of alarms decreased showing improvement! We got a few winks of shut-eye.
Sunday-day 5:
Abby has been super happy and energetic today. She was successfully taken off oxygen at 11 am and if she stays stable for 24 hours we will be able to go home! Praise Jesus! Her IV was removed this afternoon and she has thoroughly enjoyed her freedom- Hooray! We are positively prayerful that Lord willing tomorrow night we should all be in our own beds. Tonight she is super talkative and enjoying sweet potatoes and rice cereal
The end of this chapter is in sight and we are thankful, more than words can express, for all the prayers and encouragement we have received from everyone. We are overwhelmed with love, and appreciative to have such a great Christ-centered support system in our life. Please continue the prayers that Abby with have a full and complete healing and that she will not catch this virus or another form of respiratory virus again.
Love and blessings-
Sarah, Scott, & Abby Grace

Prayers Needed
Abby
was admitted to St Joseph's children's hospital Wednesday morning due
to having severe RSV, continuous vomiting, high fever (103.8 for 5 days)
and an ear infection. RSV is a very serious and contagious respiratory
virus that is very common in infants who are around other children (ie
daycare) during the peak season in Florida (September - April).

Thank you for the prayers for Abby. She will be in the hospital at least a few more days. It all depends on her ability to hold down fluids and fluid output as well as respiratory function. She successfully nursed tonight (yaaaaay!) and we hope it is a permanent uphill improvement.
It's been so upsetting for our little baby; IV, X-rays, oxygen, respiratory therapy, failed catheter attempts, and wanting to just be held by mommy and daddy. But we have faith and God is in control!
She finally smiled and played with her toys around 5 pm. Praise The Lord! We are thankful for God's provision and the strength he is providing us during this journey. Please continue to pray for a complete and speedy healing for Abby:)

So very thankful
I am so very thankful for God's grace. I'm always evolving, mistake driven,
nowhere near perfect, and yet His love is unconditional no matter what.
I'm thankful for a merciful and forgiving God. And we pray that our daughter with have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that will provide a solid foundation for her life ahead!

Abby says.....
Abby has been babbling the typical MaMaMa and Hi for awhile now, but she finally spoke her first intentional words this morning (at 30 weeks old) and continued all day. Scott is thrilled of course with her saying Dada! We hope you enjoy this short video of her first Dada's!
